My tennis journey started a long time ago, on a tennis court in Serbia with my parents who encouraged me to pick up a tennis racket and start hitting some balls. The rest is history.
Tennis is a fun sport. What motivates me to play is the feeling of being in control, and the challenge of encountering new and different players each week. Ultimately, being a role model for the younger generation and being able to promote the tennis culture to them is my goal.
I have had many major highlights and achievements in my tennis career so far, but I would say that achieving my first ATP title was very special.
I have also had many favourite tournaments but in 2020 I had a great experience in Acapulco; the crowd was very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere one of the best!
A good match for me is when two players give their absolute 100%
My daily routine varies, but it always includes tennis training, conditioning and physio work (recovery). If I have a bad match or practice then I try to turn the bad experiences into learning opportunities and then move on as fast as possible. Time heals anything.
Improvement is what drives me, in both sport and life. To see how far I can go. Like most people, I do find it a challenge to keep the same energy and motivation on a daily basis.
The best pro tip I can give is that there are no shortcuts.
You have to put in the time and work to give yourself a chance. The body and mind have to be aligned. They cannot work when they are in different channels.
