Team Dunlop’s Diego Elias won his 10th PSA title after victory against Egypt’s Fares Dessouky in the Motor City Open final in Detroit, USA.

The world No.6 had been playing well all tournament in Detroit, taking big wins against players like Paul Coll in the semi-finals and of course beating the World No.9 Dessouky in the final.

It was actually a fairly straight forward win for the Peruvian in the end as he took the match 3-0 winning 11-5, 11-8, 11-9 in 45 minutes.

The PSA confirmed that ‘Elias adds to his 2020 title at the event and becomes the first player in the tournament’s history to become a back-to-back winner and the win also means he ties with coach Jonathon Power and former World No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy for the most titles at the tournament.’

“I’m always feeling great in this tournament,” Elias said. “I like the courts, I like the people here. They make us feel like home. I’m very happy with my performance this week.

As more tournaments are on their way thick and fast. Elias will look to continue his form as he bids to reach the top of the rankings.
