Ali Farag is a PSA World Tour Platinum title winner once again. He took the title at the Qatar open defeating German’s World No.5 Simon Rösner 3-0 (11-9, 11-7, 11-5) .

Of the two, it was the German that started the stronger, getting the better of Farag in the first few exchanges. However, once Farag got a foothold, there was no stopping him and he marched on to take the match in 46 minutes.

There was ferocious support for Farag and they were delighted to see the Egyptian take the crown.

“At the beginning I saw how crowed the venue was and the screams of the crowd were crazy which made me nervous – it took me a little while to calm my nerves down,” said Farag.

“The atmosphere was beyond my imagination. Nothing I’ve played before was like that but mid-way through the first game I managed to settle and get into my game plan.”

It’s a second title of the season for Ali Farag who is making a real push for the world No.1 spot.
