Meet Weylou Chang – Head of Boys Tennis at the IMG Academy. At Dunlop we are proud to partner with one of the best sporting academies in the world.

Weylou is taking a student through one of his favourite Tennis drills and he calls it the half Spanish X . The drill stays just on the forehand side.

The drill is quite simple, the player will hit the forehand from deep and then move in and hit an attacking forehand – then repeat. The idea behind the shots is that the first forehand should be hit deep in order to make your opponent hit a short ball. Therefore the next shot is to hit a short ball and finish the point.

This is a way to simulate a match environment and a great drill for practicing changing up the style and hitting tempo to replicate a match situation.
