It’s a first title of the season for Jamie Murray, with doubles partner Bruno Soares, and a second Sydney title with the pair first winning the title in 2016.

It was a relatively comfortable match for Murray and Soares in the end as they saw off Juan Sebastian Cabal & Robert Farah 6-4, 6-3 in 75 minutes to claim their 10th tour-level trophy as a team.

It is now 23 doubles crowns for Murray who has now won exactly 50% of the finals in which he has played. The duo also earned themselves 250 ATP points.

It is a good omen for the British/Brazilian pair who won the Sydney Open in 2016 and went onto win the Australian Open in the same year. They open their account in Melbourne on Wednesday looking to repeat that feat.
