UK Marketing Manager

JOB PROFILE

OVERALL OBJECTIVE(S) OF THE POST
The purpose of this role is to help Dunlop become the leading Racket Sports company in the UK. This role will contribute to building a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of marketing channels, developing strong marketing strategies that drive effective social media plans and compelling marketing campaigns. The post holder will also be responsible for managing partnerships across the Dunlop Tennis, Squash, Badminton and Padel categories.

POSITION IN ORGANISATION

  • Reports to the UK Sales Manager
  • Liaises at all levels within Dunlop UK and Europe
  • Develop strong and effective working relationships with UK customers, Dunlop Sales representatives, UK media and press

SCOPE OF JOB

  • Marketing strategy, annual marketing plan and activities
  • Research, reporting, projects and partnership management
  • Event activation and management
  • Responsibility for A&P budget management
  • Oversee Social media platforms, advertising events and key Dunlop players

DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY

  • Responsible for financial management of the UK marketing budget
  • Implementing all POS promotional material
  • Introduce strong retail marketing support programmes
  • Manage key partnerships with Marketing support and initiatives
  • Responsible for implementing brand management and corporate identity
  • UK Sales Team support
  • Supporting office administrator and marketing assistant

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Proven Ability, Qualifications & Training
ESSENTIAL

  • Demonstrable success in the development and implementation of marketing strategies
  • Proven marketing ability
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing marketing databases, email, social media, and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Experience in organising and managing events and/or key partnerships

  • DESIRABLE
    • Some proficiency in the use of NAVISION, Mailchimp and Social media platforms
    • Familiarity with the Sports Industry and the Sports Retail Trade
    • Educated to A Level standard
    • Experience with website management e.g.: uploading imagery, managing web portals, updating content

    Skills, Knowledge & Attributes

  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • A highly motivated team player with the ability to work independently and on own initiative
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Conducts oneself in a calm, polite and professional manner at all times
  • Dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
  • Positive approach to change, implementing new initiatives/procedures and addressing any resistance encountered

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but not restricted to: Other duties may be assigned.

Marketing Campaign Management

  • Manage with the setup, facilitation, and completion of marketing activity
  • Distribute monthly marketing activity and support to key customers, buying groups and direct Sales Team
  • Support with market research, manage with production of marketing materials including sales price lists and product brochures
  • Be responsible for executing campaign development plans as agreed by the General Manager and ensuring all deadlines are achieved
  • Act as point person for all day to day UK marketing requests
  • Ensure all requests are fully evaluated before approving and rejecting, revise where necessary
  • Work with the Sales Team and external suppliers as needed to ensure all requests are actioned and delivered in a timely manner
  • Adhere to the company ethos and vision in terms of key goals, branding, services and products
  • Research and analyse market trends and competitors
  • Track effectiveness of marketing campaigns and report findings to Sales Team
  • Writing and delivering content and social media plans
  • Overseeing and managing the company’s attendance at events, such as Queens Tennis, British Open etc.

UK Sales Support

  • Support the UK Sales Manager and UK Sales Team
  • Coordinate internal and external marketing meetings and appointments within the industry
  • Support the Sales Team with POS, brochure management, Sales Presenters
  • Prepare and distribute the monthly offers to Sales Team and account database
  • Support National Account Web Portals with data and imagery input, including but not limited to arranging bookings
  • Support the UK Sales Manager and General Manager
  • Communicate effectively to ensure that the team are fully engaged with the key business challenges and objectives

Administrative duties

  • Coordinate office activities and operations to support efficiency and performance of UK Sales teams and UK Sales Manager
  • Manage emails, letters, packages, phone calls, travel plans and bookings
  • Maintain all files, documents, spreadsheets and correspondence required to manage efficient office operations
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments for management

ADDITIONAL TASKS
To assist with other departmental duties where necessary, as listed below:

  • As part of your employment, you may be required to travel anywhere within the world in order to carry out the duties of your employment
  • Due to the nature of the role, there may be a requirement to carry out some work out of contracted hours. This work is to be arranged in accordance with procedures

  • In all work activities, comply with data protection legislation and DIEL’s requirements for the protection of personal information and the privacy of individuals
